Mission Statement

The Saint Mary's University Writing Center promotes the mission of Saint Mary's University to serve diverse communities of learners as inspired by the faith, zeal, and service modeled by Saint John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. The Writing Center sustains the LaSallian mission of hospitality and service by providing all members of the Saint Mary's University community with the opportunity to receive individualized instruction in and feedback on their writing at any stage of the writing process. This work is done in an atmosphere that promotes the tutoring process as a community experience where writers and tutors collaborate in a shared effort to make meaning.
