Online Resources for Alumni
The sad news: approximately 60 days after graduation you will lose off-campus access to most of Twin Cities Library's online resources. The good news: You can still access the index of SuperSearch, you're welcome to use our resources on-site, and you can access some of our same databases via your local public libraries!
Minnesota residents can access online journal articles, eBooks, and more using the Electronic Library of Minnesota (ELM). All you need is a public library card! Contact your local public library for more information. See ELM's homepage for a complete list of available databases.
Open Access resources are available in full text online, accessible for free, and have much more relaxed copyright and licensing restrictions. Resources indexed on this page do not require usernames, passwords, or payment.
Alumni of Saint Mary's University can search Twin Cities Library's collection from off-campus using SuperSearch Guest Access. Guess access enables you to search and browse Twin Cities Library's online collections. You can also access the full text of open access and select subscription resources; however, most full text subscription resources are not available through guest access. Please note: Due to licensing restrictions, off-campus access to online resources is only available to current Saint Mary's University students, faculty, and staff.
Want full text access to all of our resources? Come in for a visit! We'll log you on to our computers and you can take full advantage of our digitial collections. You can also print material while you're here. Reservations are not required, but you may want to contact us beforehand to ensure computer availability. Please note: Alumni database access is intended solely for your own personal research and educational use. Current students have computer access priority during busy times.
All visitors are welcome to unlimited use of on-site resources provided by the University of Minnesota. You can obtain a Computer Workstation Card for free, which gives you up to two hours of on-site U of M computer access per day. The card is valid for six months and can be renewed. See a list of the U of M's databases.
