Borrowing Information
Current students, faculty, and staff with a valid Saint Mary's University of
Minnesota I.D. card are allowed to borrow material from the Twin Cities Campus
Library. Patrons from other
MNSCU/PALS consortium libraries may borrow circulating
books and dissertations with a valid library card. 
Books and dissertations may be checked out for 60 days. They may be renewed twice unless there is a hold on the item. If an item is recalled, the current borrower will have use of the book or dissertation for a minimum of 30 days.
Videos may be checked out for two weeks. There are no renewals.
Assessment Tests may be checked out for one week by students in selected courses. There are no renewals.
Microfiche, Journals, and Reference Books may not be checked out.
Overdues
Patrons are responsible for the timely return of all materials.
For students:
Three weeks after the due date, library and student records will be blocked if the item(s) has not been returned or if possible, renewed. Also, students are charged an overdue processing fee and replacement fee for each item not returned. These charges are applied to the student’s bill. The overdue processing fee is nonrefundable. Please refer to the table below for fees charged by material type.

If an item is returned in good condition, blocks on library and student records will be removed and the replacement fee will be refunded on the student's account. The replacement fee will not be refunded if the library has paid a bill from another library.
If an item is returned damaged or not returned at all, the replacement fee and $10 overdue processing fee must be paid in order for library and student record blocks to be removed.
For faculty and staff:
If an item is lost or damaged, the borrower will pay the library's cost to replace
the item.
