EBSCO App

The free EBSCO app gives you on-the-go access to Saint Mary's University's entire suite of EBSCO databases. Click here to learn about the databases. The app requires an authentication key. The key expires every nine months, so you will need to repeat these steps periodically to renew your access.

Accessing the Authentication Key

  1. On your smartphone, go to Twin Cities Library's Mobile Website: http://www2.smumn.edu/deptpages/tclibrary/mobile.html
  2. Select Search.
  3. Select EBSCO.
  4. Select EBSCO Mobile Website.
  5. Mark the box next to any database and select Continue.
  6. Log in using your Saint Mary's University username and password.
  7. Select EBSCOhost iPhone and Android Applications at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Enter any email address (preferably the address connected with your mobile device). Select Send.
  9. You will receive the following email to the address you entered in the previous step. Follow the steps in the email to gain access to EBSCO's app.
    • Dear EBSCOhost user,
      To begin using the EBSCOhost iPhone and Android applications, follow the instructions below.
      Step 1:
      Download the app from the iTunes Store  or  Google Play
      Step 2:
      View this email on your device, then tap this authentication key.
      (Note: You must access the link in Step 2 from your device. The activation link will expire in 24 hours.)

  10. Once you've followed the authentication key link, you'll be able to tap the EBSCO app icon and search Saint Mary's complete suite of EBSCO's article databases and eBooks.

When to Request a new Authentication Key

When you tap the EBSCO app icon and see the following screen, you'll know it is time to request a new authentication key.

EBSCO App wants an Authentication Key and it wants it now.
