Workshops for Undergraduate Students (Bachelor Completion)

 

SSVC095: Undergraduate APA Workshop: Introduction to APA Style

This interactive workshop taught by Writing Center staff introduces undergraduate students to the APA style, with an emphasis on recognizing rule patterns. Students will learn to create reference lists and basic in-text citations.

The workshop fee is $50. The fee is added to tuition billing for the term in which you enroll.

Students who attend this workshop receive a copy of the required undergraduate style manual.

   

To register, go to your program's online registration screen and select the section that fits your schedule and location.

If the section of your choice is full, you may place yourself on a waitlist on the registration screen

Workshops for Graduate Students

 

SSVC100: Graduate APA Workshop: Introduction to APA Style

This interactive workshop taught by Writing Center staff introduces graduate students to the APA style, with an emphasis on locating information in the manual, recognizing rule patterns, and understanding purposes. Students will learn to create reference lists and basic in-text citations. In addition, students will be introduced to word processing functions (MS Word 2007) that support APA-style formatting. After the workshop students are invited to submit electronic copies of their practice pages for instructor feedback.

The workshop fee is $50. Go to your program's online registration screen to register for SSVC100 (section A, B, C, D, or E at the Twin Cities campus; section AV at Apple Valley). Students who have questions should contact the Writing Center, 612-728-5154 or tcwrite@smumn.edu .
