Referring Students to the Writing Center
We are developing a new click-and-submit form for this page. In the meantime, to refer a student to the Writing Center, send an e-mail to tcwrite@smumn.edu and type REFERRAL FROM INSTRUCTOR on the e-mail subject line. In the body of the e-mail, please provide . . .
- Your name and telephone number
- The course for which you are referring the student
- The student's name
- Your reason for referring the student and what you hope to see the student accomplish in the Writing Center.
If you have a copy of a paper from the student, either attach an electronic copy to your e-mail or drop a duplicate hard copy at the Writing Center or receptionist's desk. Please do not send the original unless a backup copy exists.
If you wish to receive a report about the student's session (or attendance), please let the student know in advance. We need to have his or her permission to release student information.
We welcome any suggestions you have and will make every effort to address your concerns about the student's writing.
