SSVC175: Microsoft Word for APA "PC Users Only" Register

In this workshop--for PC users only--learn how to set your computer defaults to support APA style. Create an APA document with reference page and table of contents. Customize your Quick Access toolbar for APA. Learn word processing shortcuts that will save you time and energy. Learn to avoid common formatting errors such as misaligned numbers and lists, gaps in text, moving text, and "orphan" headings. Students attending this workshop are expected to have basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word.

NOTE: This workshop is for PC users only. (Mac users should enroll in a workshop designated for Mac users, offered fall term.)

In this workshop--for Mac users only--learn how to set your computer defaults to support APA style. Create an APA document with reference page and table of contents. Customize your toolbar for APA. Learn word processing shortcuts that will save you time and energy. Learn to avoid common formatting errors such as misaligned numbers and lists, gaps in text, moving text, and "orphan" headings. Students attending this workshop are expected to have basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word.

NOTE: This workshop is for MAC USERS ONLY. Students must provide their own Mac laptops and power cords. (PC users should enroll in a workshop designated for PC users.)

SSVC300: Introduction to APA Source Citation Register

This workshop is designed for students new to APA style. Learn APA guidelines for basic source citations in text and on the reference page. Learn to find APA source information in electronic databases and on the Internet. The emphasis is on APA rule patterns and using the manual efficiently.

SSVC200: "Flow": How to Improve It (2-PART SERIES) Register

What is "flow"? People sometimes use the informal term flow, as in"does my paper flow?” when they want to know if readers can follow their ideas easily. In this workshop, you will learn about the underlying components of flow: consistency, organization, grammar, transitions, and diction. The writing strategies covered in this workshop will help you to compose academic writing that is idea-dense yet easily understood by your readers.
