Computers and Network Access

 

The library houses two computer labs. The Gremelsbach lab is located just past the Reference Room on the main level. A larger lab in the lower level Room #33, when not in use for instruction, is also available. Individual computer stations are located throughout the library and the McEnery Center for students preferring a quieter space.

 

For those with laptops, wireless network access is available in the library and the McEnery Center, and there are a number of open ports for wired connections as well.

 

Five computer stations are equipped with scanners-- 2 on the main level of the library, 1 on the upper level, 1 on the upper level of McEnery, and 1 on the lower level of the McEnery.

 


Equipment Check-out

 
Four tablet PCs are available for check-out at the Circulation Desk. They may be used in conjunction with the 55" plasma TV screen located in Room 237 of the McEnery Center. Tape and CD players, head phones, and computer cables are also available. Your St. Mary's ID card is required for check-out
 


Group Study Rooms

Fitzgerald Library has four rooms (McEnery 237-240) available for students to reserve for group use.  Rooms can be reserved:

  • up to 2 weeks in advance
  • for a maximum 2 hour reservation time
  • for a maximum of 2 reservations per account; cannot be consecutive times
  • for academic purposes only

Students can access their current room bookings here. They can see their current bookings and can delete bookings.

 

Faculty or Staff wishing to reserve these rooms must use the online Astra Room Scheduling system.  These requests will be approved by the library director.

 

Group study rooms in the Library itself are available on a first come first served basis

(Upstairs: Rooms 201 and 203, Lower level: Rooms 11 and 13)
 


Viewing and Listening Facilities

 
There are five rooms equipped with VCR and DVD players. Two of these rooms also have a variety of audio recorders and players. Ask at the Circulation Desk for directions.
