Web 2.0 for Faculty & Staff--Chat, Chow, & Web2.0 Fall 2008 |Winter Spring 2009
Introduction to Chat Chow & Web 2.0: Portal Smortal |
|---|
What is Web 2.0?
"Web 2.0 is a living term describing changing trends in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aim to enhance creativity, information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the web. Web 2.0 concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, video sharing sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies."
Dr. Chad Kjorlien kicked off the first session of Chat, Chow, and Web 2.0 with a discussion of portal technology--what it is and how can it serve the needs of our community. See Dr. Kjorlien's Power Point presentation here. Afterwards, the participants broke up into small groups to discuss more specifically how our Blackboard Portal works for us currently and what functions we would like to see in the future. Read the notes from the e-portfolio group and the University calendar group.
