January/February
2006 Update
It's
been over a year since the institution started its self-study
for reaccreditation - not hard to believe for those who have been
working hard on this initiative!! A great deal of energy and attention
have been dedicated to this worthwhile effort. Members of committees
would verify that their knowledge of the institution has increased
greatly because of their participation. Committees submitted their
2nd drafts in February and again received feedback. The drafts
are at different stages of development to date, but final documents
from criterion committees are due on March 13th . The Higher Learning
Commission contacted the institution in late February to suggest
team members for the October visit; the review team will have
five consultant-evaluators. In conjunction with the comprehensive
self-study, the institution will submit a change request asking
for Commission approval to expand its ability to offer the B.S.
completion, Ed.S. and Ed.D. degree programs across Minnesota;
and the B.S. completion degrees, master of arts in management-related
programs, and master of science in technology-related programs
in Wisconsin. This change would position the institution for future
growth; the change request will be part of the document submitted
to the HLC in August.
