Responsibilities of the Steering Committee

The Steering Committee shall:

- implement the President’s Cabinet’s charge to the Steering Committee

- assure that the self-study fits the distinctive nature of Saint Mary’s University

- assure that the self-study evaluates the whole organization

- link the self-study to ongoing institutional planning activities

- develop the self-study design and submit it to Commission staff for review

- endorse membership of Criterion Committees, as proposed by the Chair of the Steering Committee and Self-Study Coordinator

- oversee the implementation of the self-study process

- review comments and recommendations from last self-study

- review and approve final drafts of reports from Criterion Committees of process, findings, and evaluations prior to compilation and final editing

- approve and endorse final self-study report

- provide assistance in selecting the members of the HLC Evaluation Team

- participate in HLC Evaluation Team visit
