Core Values, and Vision

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, like other institutions of higher education, has regularly engaged in strategic planning and evaluation to ensure that it is accomplishing and will continue to accomplish its mission. Planning and evaluation activities/processes, among other things, demonstrate the university’s commitment to improvement, to staying true to its educational mission, and to being thoughtful about its future.

This website documents, communicates, and archives activities related to planning and evaluation at Saint Mary’s. It was created in 2003/2004 in an effort to electronically document important improvement activities and assist in integrating related processes. The four major areas of focus are: 1) strategic planning, 2) operational planning and evaluation, 3) assessment of student learning, and 4) institutional self-study 2004-2006. The website will often present information at the institution-wide level, but some information will be presented by administrative area (ex. - the College and the School of Graduate and Professional Programs). The website will provide a relatively recent historical snapshot that will assist in evaluating institutional progress and improvement. It will also be a living document that will be updated regularly to present on-going activities and evaluations of the university’s efforts.
