Welcome to Summer Semester 2008
SMU and MSA Alumni Reunion Planned for Friday August 8, 2008
Saint Mary's University of Minnesota will host a reunion for students who attended Saint Mary's University, Minneapolis School of Anesthesia and Abbott Northwestern School of Anesthesia / Northwestern School of Anesthesia. Alumni, current students and faculty are invited. The reunion is scheduled for the Friday August 8th, the Friday before the 75th Annual AANA National Meeting in 2008. The reunion will be held in the Park Avenue North Building (PAN), 2430 Park Avenue, Minneapolis. This will be an outstanding opportunity to meet with former classmates and old friends. Shuttle service will be provided for attendees of the AANA National Meeting. Ample parking is also available. STUDENT SEMINAR
The 2008 Student Seminar was a great success. Seventy-two participants listened to the senior students defend their research projects. The seminar was favorably evaluated by the participants. Next years seminar has been scheduled for May 16, 2009. We hope to see you there.

The Program is now publishing a newsletter for students, faculty, clinical faculty and alumni. It contains news from the University and Program news, upcoming events, educational opportunities and alumni and student news. Anesthesia Program needs your help!
Our students need current text books to assist them in their studies. We have expanded our collection in the Twin Cities Campus Library and Resource Center but we need your help. We would like to expand the collection to include additional texts on anesthesia specialties, affiliated sciences, regional anesthesia, pain management and other areas. Here is how you can help. We have assembled a list of books that would help our students. To see the updated list, click HERE
To help us in this endeavor, choose a book (or books) from the list and send it to: Merri Moody, Saint Mary’s University of MN, 2500 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55404.
Include a copy of the receipt and we will send you an acknowledgment of your contribution. All donations of new books are tax deductible. Each book will contain the name of the person or organization that donated the book on it’s cover. All books will be placed in the Twin Cities Campus Library.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE NURSE ANESTHESIA PROGRAM Applications are due April 1st each year for a start date of May the following year. Applications are currently being accepted for classes starting in May of 2009. The GRE is not required for application. Click on "Apply" for further information and to apply on-line. Please note that the 40 month program has been discontinued.
Waiting List for the class starting in May of 2009: The waiting list for the Class of 2011 is at number 1.
FORMS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICUM Clinical forms are now on-line. To review these forms or download them, visit the NA Student Page on Blackboard or click HERE. On Blackboard, you will find the forms in the "External Links" section. Be aware that the forms will download onto your computer when you click on their links.
