Writing Center Policy on APA and AMA
Writing Center staff present APA style to students as
it appears
in The Publication Manual of the American Psychological
Association, 5th ed. (or in the American Medical Association
Manual of Style, 9th ed., for AMA style in the Nurse
Anesthesia program). When questions of style arise, we consult
the manuals or their editorial staffs. Although we recognize
that some programs depart from APA (or AMA) in some particulars,
we hold students and faculty of those programs responsible for
their departures. We encourage teaching staff to maintain
consistency with their programs. |
