- The Care and Maintenance of GC Capillary Columns is a very useful page created by Prof. Dr. H.J: Chaves das Neves of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, UNL , Portugal. The site explains the use of the Grob Test in describing GC capillary columns and allows users to test their own columns using the test.
- Radiocarbon WEB-info is an excellent compendium of information on the theory and practice of radiocarbon dating, prepared by Waikato University of New Zealand. The fifteen sections include modules on measurement, corrections, calibration, methodology, age calculation, and many others, as well as an excellent bibliography and links to other sites. A valuable resource for the student of radiocarbon techniques.
- Sample Prep Web has been designed by Dr. H. M. Kingston of the Chemistry Department at Duquesne University as "...a starting point for information and advice regarding analytical sample preparation, speciated analysis, trace analysis and microwave chemistry." Some excellent tools for the analytical chemist, including applications for acid decomposition chemistry, instrumental design, and microwave methods.
- Spectra Online offers a searchable database containing IR, MS, NMR, UV/VIS and NIR spectra. Searchable by chemical formula, CAS Registry Number, chemical name, molecular weight, melting point range or boiling point range. Results include spectrum and other chemical properties, if available. The structure can be viewed (with the aid of MDL's Chime Plug-in). A very useful site for the chemical student; it contains approximately 6,000 individual spectra.
