BUREAU OF JUSTICE STATISTICS The U.S. Department of Justice web site is arranged into general topics with statistical information under each category. The "Crime Facts at a Glance" section contains graphs and statistics. http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs

FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION The FBI's home page gives departmental notices of job openings, a directory of field offices, and press releases. The Uniform Crime Reports section is the Bureau's annual statistical report on U.S. crime. http://www.fbi.gov

INTERPOL The web site of the International Police Organization contains brief essays about crimes such as terrorism, drug trade, human trafficking, and counterfeiting, as well as reports on Interpol's activities. http://www.interpol.int

NATIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFERENCE SERVICE The NCJRS is a federally-sponsored "information clearinghouse for people involved with research, policy, and practice related to criminal and juvenile justice." Its full-text reports are on this site. http://www.ncjrs.org

ABA JUVENILE JUSTICE CENTER The American Bar Association provides this site for professionals involved in the juvenile justice system. It lists attorneys and organizations, which provide assistance to youth awaiting trial. Reports, testimonies, and news articles are available under topics, such as "Juvenile Death Penalty" and "Girls in the Juvenile Justice System" and in its "publications-research" section. http://www.abanet.org/crimjust/juvjus

YOUTH VIOLENCE : A REPORT OF THE SURGEON GENERAL This site is the full report from the US Surgeon General's Office on youth violence, which was published in 2001. DRUG ENFORCEMENT


OFFICE OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL POLICY The White House policies on drug control are put forth on this site. In the "Drug Facts" section of this page there are fact sheets on illegal drugs and a glossary of street names. Information about this office's media campaigns are included. There are also statistical reports, such as one relating drug use to crime statistics. http://www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov

U.S. DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION The DEA maintains this page for internal use, listing job openings and current and archived news releases. The site also includes information on drug trafficking in the U.S. There are drug use statistics, drug enforcement statistics, and a survey of drug use. NATIONAL CRIME PREVENTION COUNCILS This site provides a directory to crime prevention agencies across the country and full-text of its publications. Its FAQ section contains statistics on crime. http://www.ncpc.org

OFFICIAL DIRECTORY OF STATE PATROL & STATE POLICE This page is privately maintained. It contains links to state patrol headquarters, police academies, and recruitment sites. http://www.statetroopersdirectory.com

POLICE OFFICER'S INTERNET DIRECTORY This is a privately-funded web page for law enforcement personnel, but it also is a good site for research on crime and crime prevention. It contains links to law enforcement agencies, lists employment opportunities, and gives information on police equipment. There are also news articles of interest to police and links to federal and state laws. http://www.officer.com

360degrees "Perspectives on the U.S. criminal justice system" This site is a joint project of Picture Projects and National Public Radio. Studying the criminal justice system, it provides audio diaries of prisoners, correctional officers, and judges. It also contains curriculum-related materials. http://www.360degrees.org

This site provides the latest news about terrorist and anti-terrorist activities around the world.
