General Sites
- American Philosophical Association. This is the official site for this organization, which was founded in 1900. Its purpose is to promote the exchange of ideas among philosophers, to encourage creative and scholarly activity in philosophy, to facilitate professional work and teaching of philosophers, and to represent philosophy as a discipline. The page includes job listings, list of conferences, membership information, and a history of the APA.

- Episteme Links: Philosophy resources on the Internet This Internet site is easy to use with links organized by topic, philosopher's name, and time period. It provides quick links to electronic texts, encyclopedia entries, classroom resources, images, and subject-specific web pages. There is also a newsletter, list of events, and publishing information.

- Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy This web page is an online encyclopedia of philosophy. It contains long articles on subjects and philosophers written by experts. Articles include bibliographies. Searches may be done through the chronological time line or by keyword or philosopher's name.

- Philosophy Pages This site is a general introduction to philosophy produced by Garth Kemerling. It includes the Dictionary of Philosophical Terms and Names, a survey of the History of Western Philosophy, a time line, a guide to principles of logic, and a study guide for students.

- Philosophy Research Base This is an annotated directory to philosophy sites on the web. The directory is organized by topic and historical period, but also includes links to journals, news groups, and teaching resources.

- Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy This web site is a "dynamic" encyclopedia which is constantly being updated. Authors of individual articles can go into the SEP and update their own materials. So far, only about 10% of the planned entries have been put on the site.

History and Branches of Philosophy Sites
- Early Greek Philosophy This site is in two parts. One contains the text of John Brunet's book Early Greek Philosophy. The other part is "Exploring Plato's Dialogues," which includes bibliographic sources and links.

- Ethics Connection This site is produced by the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. It contains current and back issues of the journal, Issues in Ethics. Feature articles on the page look at ethical perspectives on the news and ethics in technology.
