Singer / Songwriter

Born and raised among the rivers and hills of Southeastern Minnesota, James Travis has traveled a long way from his plunking out the bass lines for the high school jazz band. Having moved from Tucson, Arizona to Madison, Wisconsin in 1998, James has been a regular in coffeehouses and acoustic jams around the Madison area.

Now aiming to expand regionally, James has started performing crowd pleasing sets from the shores of Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River Valley. Blending a spirited mix of harmonica, acoustic guitar, and powerhouse vocals into what he calls "Town & Country Acoustic Music," James has been turning the heads of both music fans and songwriters alike. Having spent much of his time in Madison developing this rough-edged style into a consistently engaging live sound, James has recorded and co-produced his first commercially available collection of material.  Contact James for your own copy of his new CD titled Go'in Downtown Tonight!
