A Message to Parents
Counseling Services wishes to be a partner with you in the personal development of your student. We always welcome your insights and concerns into your student’s behavior, personality and development. At the same time, we do not share information about your student with you without their permission. Please be assured that in matters of imminent harm, we will contact you with or without the consent of your student. We work with students to gain their consent to contact you in situations where we feel that the support of family will be helpful in resolution of crisis situations and/or in the overall growth and development of your student.
In the majority of cases, confidentiality of student concerns is very useful in providing the security for students to examine their particular situation honestly and thoroughly. Confidentiality is also an invaluable tool in our goal of moving students toward the emotional autonomy and responsiblities of adulthood
