Alcohol/Drug Education

Most drugs, including alcohol and tobacco will 'smudge up your windows.' The Wellness Center's education services are designed to assist you in keeping your "window" clean and clear. Saint Mary's University seeks to be proactive in educating our entire university community on the present and growing concerns of alcohol and other drug use and abuse.
Our awareness program includes three goals:
1 . Provide educational resources and awareness regarding the harmful effects of alcohol and other drugs in order to reduce alcohol and other drug abuse on campus among students and employees.
2 . Provide alcohol and other drug abuse screenings, brief counseling, referral and consultation services to students and employees. An early intervention program called Checkpoint is offered for students who experience a variety of consequences related to their alcohol and/or other drug use.
3 . Promote healthy, responsible lifestyle choices and personal growth through a variety of programs and activities.
